Landmark, Stonegate and Harrison Street to Develop Student Housing at Appalachian State University
ATHENS, GA. February 9, 2015—Landmark Properties recently broke ground on The Standard at Boone;
a 561 bed, mixed-use student housing with approximately 12,600 square feet of retail space. The Standard will be the only luxury student housing within walking distance to Appalachian State University. The project, a joint venture with Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC, and Stonegate Developers, LLC, has commenced construction with delivery scheduled for Fall of 2016.
Located on Blowing Rock Road, the project is the redevelopment of a condemned hotel and apartment property and will remediate several environmental issues as well as re-creating a certified trout stream. The Standard at Boone is the cornerstone of Boone’s 2030 Land Use Plan for the downtown. Located between ASU’s Panhellenic Hall and campus, The Standard at Boone is steps from the Holmes Convocation Center and walking distance to popular restaurants, shops and local nightlife. The Standard will feature six fully-furnished floorplans with studio, one, two, three and four bedroom units.
